Rodney Little – President

President of RL Little Consulting, Rodney’s career includes over 33 years of service in the United States Army in the field of leadership, Security and Administrative Management experience. As Sergeant Major in the United States Army, Rodney brings a wealth of knowledge about labor market and challenges facing today’s Veterans. Served as liaison between field-grade officers and senior NCOs during complex military training exercises and related operations. Presently, he is serving as a member on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Common Cause, Veterans Multi-Service Center in Philadelphia and serving as a member for United States Senator Pat Toomey’s Military Academy Selection Panel in Pennsylvania. Chairman, Citizens Networking 4 Progress; Political Action Committee (PAC). Previously he served on Pennsylvania’s Governor Tom Corbett’s Advisory Commission of African American Affairs. Retired Philadelphia Housing Authority Police Officer and Union President for the Fraternal Order of Housing Police, Alvin C. Palmer Memorial Lodge #106 Wilmington University Graduate, Bachelor of Science, Organization Management.

Stephanie Booker-Founder

Stephanie holds a Master of Science in Non-Profit Management from eastern University. She is a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), Forensic Peer Specialist (FPS) and a WRAP Facilitator (Wellness Recovery Action Plan).  She also has Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Eastern University. She Leads various strategic planning processes for various programs and events. Design and facilitate professional development trainings and seminars to operating plans with clear benchmarks and annual objectives. Successful coordinator of housing construction projects, community events, workshops and trips. Stephanie has a passion for the Veteran’s population and has obtained the upmost respect from that population.  She has worked the most difficult clients and received positive results.

Desiree Booker

Desiree is the Founder of ColorVizion Lab LLC, a leadership development firm providing corporate training and development solutions and executive coaching with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Noting the extreme lack of diversity in executive roles across industries, Desiree has dedicated much of her career to preparing multicultural leaders for career advancement opportunities. Born and raised in West Philadelphia and now residing in Atlanta, Desiree graduated Cum Laude from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Since then, Desiree has developed a strong background in corporate communications, recruiting, and diversity in the workplace, and puts her skills to use to develop inclusive workplace cultures.  With these talents, Desiree has brought tremendous growth to AHARI, Inc.

Imani Badie

 Imani is a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), Forensic Peer Specialist (FPS). Imani is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She was elected to the 3rd ward by constituents to represent 628 families in her ward.  Her professional while focus on community, have provided her with several opportunities and leadership roles: pharmacy liaison for CVS, Vice -President of a 465 Philadelphia Housing Authority complex, Project Coordinator for Urban Affairs Coalition (50 non-profit organizations), and several years as a Legislative Assistant with Pennsylvania House of Representatives (186).  Currently, Imani is employed by North Philadelphia Health Systems as a Community Recovery Specialist and a senior board member of the Philadelphia Black Woman’s Health Alliance.  Imanie will be supporting AHARI with grant writing and capital campaigns.

Jahi Ali-Bey

Jahi is a Veteran, served in the army National Guards and holds Bachelor of ArtsDegree in Business Management from Temple University and a certification in Computer Science from Bellevue University.

Critical skill sets: Assessment, Listening, Leadership, Organizational, ,-level Operation Management, Business and Contract Negotiations, Quality Improvement, Communication, Community Outreach, Cost Reductions, Cross-Cultural Communications, Customer Relations, Departmental Operations Management, Distribution Management, Diverse Market Unification. Harry Graham

Harry is a Veteran and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from Temple University in 2017, Associates in Construction Technology in 2012 from Community College of the Air Force, Associates Degree in American Heart Association Heart Saver AED from Community College of Philadelphia and an, Ironworker Journeyman Training Certification in 1989.  Harry worked as an Adjunct Professor, Welding Educator,Journeyman Iron Worker, 1st Class Buildings Structural Welder, 1st Class Rail Maintainer, Equipment Operator Supervisor, Steelworker Supervisor

Pearl Karen Hall-Ragin

Pearl is an Author, Entrepreneur, Board Member, Evangelist, Entrepreneur and Veteran.  She graduated from Edward Bok A.V.T. High School in 1980, joined the military in 1986, served in the Army as an Administrative Specialist, Personnel Administrative Specialist. USAR Unit Administrator, Family Support Liaison Chaplain Assistant and USAR Civilian Recruiter She has been awarded Army Achievement Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Rifleman-ship Badge, Physical Training Fitness Badge, Army Recruiting Badge.  Pearl attended the University of Pa (Community Wharton Education Program) & Veterans Upward Bound), Delaware Community College and Community College of Philadelphia, Army Recruiting, Management Marketing, Administration, Training, Equal Opportunity, Family Deployment Liaison and Warrant Officers Schools. She is currently a continuing degree student at Dallas Baptist University.  Her current employment at the Department of Homeland Security as a Mission Support Specialist she has also worked as a Customs Technician, Local Property Officer, Coordinator for the Combined Federal Campaign & Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Pearl is a member of   Transforming Life Christian Center in Lansdowne PA and has several affiliations to include Women in Military Service and TSM. Pearl has also become an Author in 2020 with her upcoming book “I am your Strength”!

Latoya Robinson – Secretary

Laytoya is an Army Veteran with the passion to be a caregiver, teacher, and protector of children’s best interests the decision.  She is a parent, educator, and inspirational leader!  Latoya is very instrumental in learning new task to support the mission. She has experience with organizing events, people skills, and just being a solider. Latoya’s intentions are to continually gain knowledge in multiple areas of education. As the educational system evolves, she intends to evolve alongside it. My philosophy, “use music as a form of bonding, relaxation, and therapeutic!

Rommie Lee Parker

Rommie is United States Army Veteran Staff Sargent (E-6) 82nd Airborne.  He holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration/Public Administration. Rommie is experienced in Physical and Occupational therapy assistance for patients with PTSD and Dementia. He worked as a therapeutic support staff, facilitated mental health groups, emotional disturbance, and worked with the Autism population. Facilitated GED and computer literacy classes. Rommie is a former client of AHARI and we are honored to have him serve on our Executive Board!

Marlena Smith

Marlena holds Associates’s Degree in Business Management and Sales and Marketing Management from Sullivan College in Lexington, KY. Bachelor of Arts in English and currently working on her Master’s in legal studies at North Central University. She worked at The Philadelphia Housing Authority and coordinated The Moving to Work Project by HUD (Housing Urban Development). She was responsible for referring tenants to First-Time Homeownership programs: budget, money management, credit repair, housing counseling, home inspections, tenant referral to Contracted Vendors, monitor tenants through the completion of programs as well as securing homeownership. Property Management Trainings, monitored vendors and tenants for compliance of Federal, State and County HUD guidelines. My current role is a Public Health Program Analyst: evaluate, analyze, monitor and research the quality of services and operations of assigned agencies; discusses programs and operations with agency officials and directors. advise contracted agencies on existing county, State and Federal standards and regulations approve and authorize individual “Support Plans”, conduct investigatory meetings with agency and departmental officials to discuss problems and policy issues. Prepare investigative on reports with finding on a monthly basis.She worked in the Social Service field for 15-plus years advocating for families and children. Providing resources and leg work for homelessness, veterans, pregnant teens, children at risk, behavioral health, drug and alcohol and Intellectual disability services. By God’s Grace and Mercy, I have been able to navigate the system to provide any means for the vulnerable citizens of Pennsylvania.

Billie F. Steele

Billie is a Vietnam Veteran with an honorable discharge, rank PC3 – 3rd Class.  He served as a peer mentor for Impact Services, driver, and as an assistant lab technician and computer literacy assistance for the Veterans Multi-Service Center.  Billie is a former client of AHARI, and we are honored to have him serve on our executive board!  His experience with homelessness, PTSD, and serving in the Vietnam War, brings great value to our clients that are experiences similar situations that Billie has overcome. He is able live life on life’s terms by having the tools needed to combat PTSD.

YerodinAvent – Advisor

Yerodin holds his Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University, M.S. Urban Policy, New School for Social Research, Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, Bachelor of Arts from City University of New York, City College, Fellowship.  He is the founder of Dofat-Avent Group Consultants as a Human Development & Nonprofit Management, a Principal Administrator and Director of Operations for TAPP’s federally funded fatherhood initiative.Yeodin worked with Stephanie Booker during the MS program at obtain AHARI’s exempt status through the IRS as a capstone project. He continues to serve on our advisory board and eager to help whenever he is needed.

Otis Nash – Advisor

Otis holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. His background is in independent program development for Juvenile Criminal Justice Rehabilitation, counseling for justice involved youthfor juvenilesthat were incarcerated. Provided treatment – addressing psychosocial issues, that caused conflict/dysfunction in youth’s maturation. Otis worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs by addressing issues of Combat Veterans.  In various areas such as PTSD, Family Counseling, D&A Counseling, Homelessness, Placement – Long Term Treatment for Chronic Illnesses, Placement in Veterans Healthcare (VA Hospitals) for Long Term Care of Seriously Mental Ill Veterans & Outreach to Incarcerated Veterans in State, Federal & County Jails/Prisons. Outreached PA Dept. of Corrections. He Initiated the first PTSD groups in 1982-89 due to class action suit addressing issues of PTSD the was facilitated by Richard “TuT” Carter. Readjustment Counseling Therapist-VISN 4 Healthcare for Reentry Veterans Coordinator created and implemented treatment for Veterans with PTSD, Chronic Homelessness, Chemically Dependent and Reentry for Incarcerated Veterans in County, State and Federal Prisons/Jails. He has a 30-year history of outreach/incarcerated Veterans in State Prisons and County Jails.  We were able to establish a system to identify Veterans and establish eligibility for treatment in Department of Veterans Healthcare systems. Provided education to Federal/State Parole, PA Dept. of Corrections, DE Dept. of Corrections, WV Dept. of Corrections & NJ Dept. of Corrections Staff and Community Corrections Staff on annual basis. PA Supreme Court & the Dept. of Veterans Affairs & DE Supreme Court – instrumental in developing a protocol for Veterans Courts in collaboration with PA Supreme Court, assisted with creating the National Program for Healthcare for Reentry Veterans Program.  The National Program has identified programs in Delaware & Pennsylvania as Best Practices for Reentry. Presented on a national level Best Practices for Reentry with National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, Department of Veterans Affairs Homeless Programs, and Readjustment Counseling Centers National Program & Behavior Health & Science National Program.
